1979
May Orr marries singer/actor Sandi Easton, becoming Sheena Easton. The marriage lasts eight months. Easton successfully auditions for EMI Records, London June Easton graduates as a teacher of speach and drama from The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
1980
July UK BBC-TV documentary "The Big Time", featuring Sheena, airs. August 9 to 5 peaks at UK #3 September Modern Girl recharts and makes UK #8, giving Easton twoTop 10 hits in the UK in the same week. November Sheena appears in The Royal Variety Show, London, watched by The Queen Mother. One Man Woman peaks at UK #14.
1981
January LP Take My Time peaks at UK #17. The title track makes UK #44. April Morning Train (Nine to Five) hits US #1 for two weeks, selling over a million copies. May LP Sheena Easton peaks at US #24. Single When He Shines peaks at UK #12. July Modern Girl peaks at US #18. August For Your Eyes Only hits UK #8. Easton becomes the only Bond theme singer to be seen on screen singing the song during the credits. September Just Another Broken Heart makes UK #33. October For Your Eyes Only makes US #4. March We've Got Tonight, a duet with Kenny Rogers, hits US #6 and goes to #1 on the US country charts. We've Got Tonight makes UK #28. October Sheena stars in her own NBC-TV special "Sheena Easton...Act One." Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair) makes US #9. LP Best Kept Secret makes US #33 and UK #99.
1984
March Almost Over You peaks at US #25. May Devil In A Fast Car peaks at US #79 June Easton marries agent Rob Light. The marriage lasts 1 1/2 years. Todo Me Recuerda A Ti is Easton's first album recorded in Spanish and is a big success. September "Sheena Easton...Act One" wins an Emmy Award for best variety or musical program. November Strut hits US #7
1985
February LP A Private Heaven peaks at US #15, selling a million+ copies. Easton wins the Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance for Me Gustas Tal Como Eres. March Sugar Walls, written by Prince, peaks at US #9 and #3 on the US R&B charts. Easton is honored as the only artist in history to hit the top ofevery key chart in Billboard magazine: Pop, R&B, country, adult contemporary, and dance. November Easton records It's Christmas All Over The World for the closing credits of the Dudley Moore film "Santa Claus - The Movie" December Do It For Love makes US #29.
1986
March Jimmy Mack makes US #65. July Easton records two songs for the Demi Moore, Rob Lowe film "About Last Night...", working with Narada Michael Walden. The songs are So Far So Good and Natural Love. September So Far So Good makes US #43
1987
June EMI America, Easton's american label, folds and in the process an entire album No Sound But A Heart, fails to get released. Easton's sues the new label, EMI Manhattan, to be released from the remainder of her contract and is successful. October Easton duets with Prince on U Got The Look, which makes US #2 and UK #11. Easton appears on stage with Prince for one show of his Sign O' The Times tour to be filmed for video release. November Easton guest stars on "Miami Vice" for five episodes earning high ratings.
1988
July Easton is interviewed by the host of BBC-TV, which launched her career.
1989
February The Lover In Me makes US #2, #1 on US R&B charts, and UK #15. LP The Lover In Me makes US #44 and UK #25. March Days Like This makes US R&B #36 and UK #43. May 101, written by Prince, makes US Dance #2 and UK #54. December The Arms Of Orion, Easton's second duet with Prince, appears on the "Batman" soundtrack and makes US #36 and UK #12.
1991
May What Comes Naturally makes US #19. LP What Comes Naturally makes US #90. September Easton is signed to star opposite Raul Julia in the Broadway musical revival of "Man Of La Mancha".
1992
April "Man Of La Mancha" becomes one of the top 3 attractions on Broadway selling out until it's end in June. August Easton records A Dream Worth Keeping, a song she donates to the soundtrack for "FernGully", and environmentally conscious film.
1993
August Easton releases her first album of non-contemporary material, No Strings.
1994
November Easton adopts a son, Jake, and becomes a single mother. Easton's tour with James Ingram, Peobo Bryson, and Regina Belle titled "The Colors Of Christmas" becomes a top grossing show. Easton is signed to star in an animated film as a dog named Sasha.
1995
March Easton releases her 12th CD, My Cherie, to strong reviews.
1996
January Easton adopts a baby girl in mid January named Skylar March Easton makes her feature film acting debut as All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 opens in theaters. August Easton joins the national tour of the musical "Grease!" as Betty Rizzo. September Easton hits Broadway for the second time, in the musical "Grease!"
1997
January Easton releases Modern Girl '97 in Japan, which features new versions of her 1980 hit. February Easton rejoins the national tour of the musical "Grease!" April Freedom is released. The album contains songs that, for the first time in her career, Sheena has production credits on. July Easton, 38, marries documentary producer/director Tim Delarm during a quick ceremony in Las Vegas, NV on July 28, 1997. It his her third marriage and his first. October Easton is seen in an infomercial for the BodyBlade, a new fitness product. November Easton once again tours with The Colors of Christmas, with Peabo Bryson, James Ingram and Patti Austin. The show becomes one of the top grossing tours of the holiday season.
1998
June Easton revives her role as Aldonza/Dulcinea in a brief tour of the musical Man of La Mancha, which she took to Broadway in 1992. July Easton files for divorce from her third husband after only eleven months of marriage. She cites irreconcilable differences as the cause of the estrangement. November Easton tours again with The Colors of Christmas and records two songs which appear on a new CD of the same name. The songs are The Place Where We Belong (a duet with Jeffery Osborne) and The Lord's Prayer.
1999
March Easton releases a new single ("Carry A Dream," the theme song from an animated film caled "Marco") and album, Home, again only in Japan. December Easton performs her Millenium concert at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
2000
January Entering the third decade of her career, Easton signs on to perform eight shows a week with David Cassidy in a Broadway-style production called At the Copa. The show runs for 44 weeks in Las Vegas. Easton appears on the QVC network to sell Angel dolls and figurines she has designed.
