The tracks, Sheena's first new recordings since 2001,

The album has only been released in Japan so far, but

1997 album "Freedom", previously only available
in Japan or from the official website, is finally given
a retail release in the USA this week.
The
tracklisting is unchanged from the original release,
but the cover has been amended slightly.
This
is a limited edition release (rumours are that only
2,500 copies are available)

and Wal-mart.com.

TV station Channel 4 commissioned a poll recently on the
best James Bond film themes. "For Your Eyes Only"
by Sheena Easton ranked 5th best in the public poll, ahead
of Madonna, Duran Duran, Carly Simon, TinaTurner and many

was a "problem"
with the song that was selected. Occasionally
a good idea for a match
with the celebrity doesn't work as the song
is difficult for the
celebrity, so they have to pass.

Sheena
will be appearing on the American TV show "Celebrity
Duets" THIS WEEK!
Each
week the show pairs celebrities with professional singers
and the public vote to decide which celebrity stays in
the competition. The show is hosted by Wayne Brady and
the perfomances are judged by David Foster, Marie Osmond
and Little Richard.
Thursday night is the LIVE PERFORMANCE SHOW with the RESULTS
SHOW on Friday night.
More on the celebrities appearing on the show can be found
at the show's website.

Sheena's name is mentioned in a new song called "Destroy
Rock & Roll" by Mylo. It is a dance track that's
lyrics basically consist of reciting the names of musical
artists from the 80's.
There
is a video for the song that shows some of the mentioned
artists in silouhette form. They show Sheena as a silouhette
of the photo from the back of the You Could Have Been
With Me album (the picture of her reclining on one arm
with the other resting on her bent knee.)

following report appeared in the Scottish "Sunday
Mail" newspaper on 15th January...
Scottish pop star SHEENA EASTON is set for a return
to the music charts after establishing an acting career.
The MODERN GIRL hitmaker has been absent from the UK
charts since 1989, and despite a few album releases
since, has failed to make a big impression on the music-buying
public. However, Easton is busy planning a big comeback
- but she warns fans will have to wait till her two
adopted children JAKE, 11, and SKYLAR, 10, are a bit
older. She says, "When my kids are in college,
maybe I'll drag my fishnets and high heels out and go,
'Wouldn't it be a blast to have a big album?'" |
