'Swear' is released as a single in America reaching US#80.

Sheena wins her second Grammy Award. This time for Best Mexican-American Performance for 'Me Gustas Tal Como Eres', a duet with Luis Miguel on the 'Todo Me Recuerda A Ti' album.

Sheena records the theme song for 'Santa Claus - The Movie',  'It's Christmas All Over The World' is released as a single in the UK (UK# -).

Do It For Love is released as the first single from the 'Do You' album and reaches US #29 and UK# -.  The album reaches US#40 and UK# -.

Jimmy Mack peaks at US #65.

'Magic Of Love' is released as the third and final single from the "Do You" album in the U.S.

Two songs by Sheena are featured in the Rob Lowe / Demi Moore movie 'About Last Night' - 'So Far So Good' is released as a single and makes US #43.

Eternity is released as a single from the 'No Sound But  A Heart' album.

EMI America is bought out by Manhattan records. Sheena is unhappy with the new record label and is able to break her existing contract. As a result the album is not released in the US. Tracks from the album were later released by Celine Dion and Patti La Belle.

The album, consistently voted her best album by her fans, is finally given a US release on CD in 1999.

Sheena duets with Prince on U Got The Look, which makes US #2 and UK #11. The track was featured on Prince's critically aclaimed "Sign O The Times" album.

Sheena takes on her first high profile acting role when she guest starred in 5 episodes of 'Miami Vice', portraying Caitlin Davies, Sonny Crockett's wife.

Sheena is reunited with the Esther Rantzen, producer of the "The Big Time" TV show which gave Sheena her big break, when she guests on the U.K. television series 'Esther Interviews...'

Sheena appears in an episode of the U.S. TV Series 'The Garry Shandling Show'.

1989

'The Lover In Me' - the first album for MCA records

Sheena signs to MCA records.

'The Lover In Me' is the debut single from the album of the same name - it reaches UK#15 and US#2. The track gives Sheena a #1 on US R&B charts). The album reaches UK#30 and US #44.

The album was mainly produced by LA & Babyface (pictured right), but also featured contributions by Prince.

'Days Like This' is released as a single and reaches UK#43 US# - (US R&B #36).

'101', written by Prince, makes UK#54 US# - (US R&B #2).

'No Deposit No Return' is released as a single in America (US# -) 

Sheena reunites with Prince on 'The Arms Of Orion', performed and co-written with Prince and featured on the 'Batman' movie soundtrack. It makes UK#27 and US #36.

Sheena appears as herself in the MTV comedy series 'Just Say Julie'.

1991

'What Comes Naturally'

'What Comes Naturally' - the first single from the album of the same name reaches UK#- US#19. The album makes UK#- US #90.

"You Can Swing It" and "To Anyone" are also released as singles in the US.

Sheena begins a national tour of the musical revival of 'Man Of La Mancha', co-starring with Raul Julia.

1992

'Man Of La Mancha' has a very successful run on Broadway.

'A Dream Worth Keeping' appears on the soundtrack for the animated movie 'Fern Gully - The Last Rainforest'.

Sheena becomes a citizen of the United States of America.

1993

'No Strings'
 
Sheena fulfilled one of her ambitions by releasing an album of Jazz and Blues standards called 'No Strings' (US# -).  She can be seen performing one of  the tracks ('The Nearness Of You') in the film 'Indecent Proposal'.

Sheena's acting resume is boosted by appearances in the critically aclaimed movie 'Body Bags', episodes of ABC-TV's drama series 'Jack's Place' and syndicated show "Highlander - The Series", an episode of  Fox TV's 'The Adventures Of Brisco County, Jr..', and she also provides the voice of Agnes the cat in NBC-TV's animated movie 'David Copperfield'.

Sheena appears in the television movie 'Tek War', co-starring with William Shatner.

She adopts a baby boy, Jake.

Sheena joins James Ingram, Peabo Bryson, and Roberta Flack for 'The Colors Of Christmas', an annual tour for the holiday season.

'My Cherie' album is released and does very well in Japan .  The title track is released as a single in Japan where it reaches the top 10.

'Too Much In Love' is released as a follow up single in Japan.

'Flower In The Rain' is released as a single in France.

Sheena provides the voice of Finella in Walt Disney's animated series 'Gargoyles', and appears in the TV movie 'Real Ghosts'.
